Must-Know

If you have to drive at a slow speed that may hold up other vehicles, what should you do?

Drive at night when there's less traffic
Keep to the left and let others pass where possible
Nothing - drive as normal as it's other drivers' responsibility to overtake you safely
Keep as close as you can to the centre of the road

In New Zealand, driving rules and regulations are designed to ensure the safety of all road users and the smooth flow of traffic. Specifically, for vehicles designed to travel at lower speeds, such as tractors, heavy transport vehicles, or those driven by beginners, it is advised to "drive as close to the left side of the road as possible, allowing other vehicles to overtake from the right." This measure leaves most of the road available for faster-moving participants.
